2016 was an exciting year for the Castle Rock Senior Activity Center, as we celebrated our 45th anniversary. We are a non-profit organization where people 50+ gather for activities at our community center, go places all over the Denver area in our fleet of vehicles, make friends for life, get involved in our community, try new things, stay active in sports and exercise, participate in special interest groups, eat often, laugh and just hang out together. We have about 1000 members and have 150 activities a month to choose from. We also provide services and wellness activities for seniors and have a transportation program, with volunteer drivers, which provides more than 700 rides a month throughout Castle Rock and to medical appointments for those unable to drive, often allowing participants to stay independent.
We accept donations all year long through Colorado Gives and we thank you for considering joining our family of donors. We couldn't operate without people willing to contribute, and we promise that your sacrifice will be used to make enrich life or provide much needed services to seniors from the Castle Rock area. Donate because you are a senior or on behalf of a senior you love.
Our January 2018 Newsletter is published and available here. Please note, the date of the Ice Castles Bucket List trip has been changed to Saturday, January 27th.
Please know that we try our very best to never have to change dates, but the castles are just now being built to open around the first of the year, and all the details had not been finalized when we went to press. The day we had picked they do not open until evening - so we had to pick an early opening day. We apologize for any inconvenience. This is an incredible opportunity to see the castle before it melts away - it takes a month or more to build. They build these all around the country and it's only the third time they've come to Colorado, so don't miss this opportunity to see the up to 50 feet towers, tunnels, a fountain and rooms galore. During the day the very thick ice will be white or blue, depending upon the sunlight. Please see other information on page 12 of the newsletter. We have to buy our tickets in advance, so this is now a ticketed event. We should be back to Castle Rock about 5:00 PM.
Registrations can be turned in at any time at the Senior Center for the 9-Hole or 18-Hole Senior Golf Leagues, or for substitute players. Remember that all golfers must also be current members of the Senior Center. The link below is a fillable registration form - fill it out online and you can save it and print it. Sign the bottom and bring or send to the Senior Center with your payment.
