CASTLE ROCK SENIOR CENTER

OutingThe Castle Rock Senior Center, Inc., was first started by a small group of people in Douglas County as a Senior Citizen Club in late 1971. It has evolved as a non-profit organization with a present membership of over 700 people.

Seated CoupleWe moved from our old renovated church building on Third Street to a new facility built by the Town of Castle Rock adjacent to the Castle Rock Community Recreation Center in the spring of 1997. We have a service agreement with the Town of Castle Rock, through which we provide services to local seniors, and the Town provides space for our use in the Community Center as well as some financial support for our programs.

A Board of Directors appoints committee chairpersons, hires and manages a staff to carry out the daily operations. We have a legal advisor and Town liaison.

We are responsible for raising most our operating revenue and managing of expenses. In addition to the funding we receive from the Town, we receive some support from the County for our transportation services.

Our paid staff consists of a director and assistant director. All other functions are accomplished by utilization of our many wonderful volunteers who provided over 12,000 volunteer hours in the past year.
